Kate founded Rally PT in 2017 to provide one-on-one, individualized physical therapy with a functional focus. Kate uses video analysis and a biomechanical approach to address impairments by identifying underlying causes of pain. Kate’s treatment approach involves retraining movement patterns to not only address symptoms but identify and correct movement faults and address the source of pain. Kate’s areas of interest include treating overhead athletes, CrossFit athletes, gymnasts, and helping individuals with low back pain return to daily activities without restriction.
Kate was a competitive gymnast for over ten years and played collegiate softball at Williams College. She has 3 years of experience as a CrossFit athlete and is trained in Clinical Management of the Fitness Athlete through the Institute of Clinical Excellence.

Heather has worked in outpatient orthopedics for over thirteen years in both IL and PA. She taught as adjunct faculty in the University of Pittsburgh Physical Department of Physical Therapy and currently teaches as a contract educator in Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. During her time in Pittsburgh Heather was a physical therapist for Carnegie Mellon University athletics.
Heather brings expertise to Rally PT in the following areas:
Shoulder: Heather has extensive experience with pre and post-operative rehabilitation of diagnoses including rotator cuff tears, labral pathology and impingement syndromes.
Video Gait and Throwing Analysis: Often, standard, commonly-prescribed strengthening exercises alone are insufficient to treat injuries associated with repetitive throwing and running. Through use of video Heather is able to identify movement impairments that she can train the athlete to alter through gait retraining or individualized exercises targeting throwing mechanics.
Dry Needling: Dry needling is an excellent intervention to address pain that a foam roller or lacrosse ball can’t alleviate. Through dry needling Heather is able to release a muscle in ways not possible through other manual interventions.
Pre and Post-Operative Rehabilitation: Heather has significant experience managing pre and post-operative care for shoulder (rotator cuff repair; Laterjet and Bankart repairs; SLAP repairs) and knee diagnoses (ACL and other ligamentous injury and meniscus repairs).

Kelly provides a unique approach to physical therapy for the fitness athlete. Kelly was a competitive gymnast for 10 years, then competed at the Division 1 level (pole vaulting) at Northeastern University. After college, she found CrossFit and enjoys competing in the Chicago area.
Kelly applies her clinical knowledge to rehabilitation to help you perform at a higher level. Kelly is certified in management of the fitness athlete through the Institute of Clinical Excellence. She uses her extensive knowledge of the technical aspects of weightlifting and gymnastics, along with video feedback, to analyze and retrain movement patterns and help athletes build a strong foundation. Her objective is to keep you in the gym through the presence of injury by training safely and address any weaknesses holding you back from your full potential. She provides one-on-one individualized care to help you achieve your fitness goals.
